Arc extinguishing device
The fuses used by power circuits and high-power equipment not only have three parts of the general fuse, but also have arc extinguishing devices, because the circuit protected by such fuses not only has a large working current, but also the voltage at both ends is high when the melt is fused, and often the melt has melted (fused) or even vaporized, but the current is not cut off. The reason is that at the moment of fusing under the action of voltage and current, the arc phenomenon occurs between the two electrodes of the fuse. The arc extinguishing device must have strong insulation and good thermal conductivity, and be electronegative. Quartz sand is the commonly used arc extinguishing material.
